Get the lead out!

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is leading a campaign to make consumers aware that certain cosmetic companies are putting lead in their lipstick products.  A recent FDA study found lead in 400 lipsticks tested, with higher levels than ever reported in some of the most popular brands. The worst offender: L’Oreal USA. L’Oreal makes five of the 10 most contaminated brands in the FDA study.

To bring awareness to this idiotic and unnecessary practice, The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics held a contest asking people to submit their own pictures and/or videos to serve as a sort of “service announcement” about the danger of lead-loaded lipsticks.   They have chosen three finalists and want the public to choose the winner.  Click on the link below to view the 3 finalists work and vote for your favorite entry and please ask others to do the same.
